I Feel Brand New!

You have possibly read recent articles here about my cousin, Michelle a.k.a Mystique of Mystique's Moments, with whom most of my childhood years I shared with. We are a year apart in age. She returned from Manila to her hometown to celebrate her mom’s birthday. Michelle and I are related on our maternal side; her mom and my mom are sisters.

But wait….

There is more to celebrate than just her mom’s birthday. Michelle, as you would have noted at an earlier article HERE, had recently been engaged to her beau. This means Michelle and Jon’s Wedding will be held in the very near future.

Now add this to the above.

I feel much healthier now and I have decided to return to my Blogs albeit with my eyes on the clock. It’s a re-start and I have to be mindful about the length of time I devote to my Blog and not abandon what I need to do to keep my health in good condition.

I thank Ally of In the Eyes of the Beholder who did admirably at this Blog and Kuerdas during my recovery period. I also thank all my visitors who never lost their faith with Our Journey To Forever. Thank you most sincerely!

Earlier during this week, my mom and I journeyed to Michelle’s home to join in their birthday celebration. Needless to say, it was indeed a happy birthday gathering as well as an auspicious occasion to meet Michelle and congratulate her in person.

A day later, Michelle, her mom and brother returned our visit by travelling to our home (Will talk more about this on a separate post). It was then that she divulged that I am the Maid of Honor for her wedding. WOW! I did not know what to say and at the same time I felt deeply touched and honored by her request.

I have actually sworn not to be the Maid of Honor again. I have been the Maid of Honor of a friend in 2006 and I was sick and down for a week after the wedding. But well, how can I say "NO" to my cousin dearie? ;-) She actually told me that she's supposed to be the Maid of Honor to my own wedding but since she got engaged first, I have no choice but to be the Maid for her wedding, LOL!

This is an event that I have clearly marked on my Calendar.

Oh!

Here I go again…what clothes am I to wear? And what about my shoes? Hairdo? Stockings? Gosh! This event has butterflies fluttering in my stomach. I am so excited for my cousin walking down the aisle ;-)

Health Care Makes Me Feel Brand New

It has been a period of learning for me. I have been more purposeful about improving my health condition. This is something that I kept procrastinating and it was Windy of Windmill on the Hill who insisted that I really take serious measures to get my health back on track.

He persuasively goaded me on, convincing me to take baby steps in doing the right things. But there were times he chided me for being inconsistent and he meant well. I find Windy a dependable friend from whom I learned a good deal about personal health care.

He also spoke about how his second son is a body fitness freak. LOL! Well that’s definitely not my bowl of soup. Can you imagine me pumping up my biceps and turning into an Amazon woman?

However, body fitness is not merely biceps. There are several valuable points that can be learned from body fitness. From example at Kettlebells, there are various forms of physical workouts that enable anyone to get his body trim and fit. Now, that would interest for both, woman and man.

Right now, Windy keeps reminding me about my need to do physical exercise everyday. It is just taking a thirty minutes walk outside my home before I attempt anything more physically strenuous. I’ve been doing it and I admit that it is helping my health recovery.

When Will Our Government Change?

There was a time that I went to Lainy's office when I was in GenSan. AS you all know, Lainy works as a government employee in Commission on Elections. It's a government sect who take charge of the elections especially this coming May 2010.

Some people seemed to be busy when I was there, some are just chitchatting. Just like any other government offices that I have seen in provinces that I visited here in the Philippines, everything there seemed to be obsolete. Stack of papers anywhere, the building itself is old and they don't even have modern industrial computer. I don't know why the government can't seem to provide for better industrialized equipments to make their employees work better. I actually know the reason why. The money for the equipments goes to corrupt people who gets a seat in the government. They are like vultures and just take advantage of the people's taxes. Sigh. When will our government change?

Waiting For God's Sent...

Friends from college and high school days, most of them, have already settled down. If not married, they already have cuddly kids of their own. Some of them are about to get married and are inviting me on their wedding. Even friends that I haven't heard from for a long time have communicated with me lately through text messages and emails. All of them ask the same questions. "Who did you get married to?" or "When are you gonna have kids of your own?". I tell them I ask the same question myself and make a joke out of it. Most of them get even more surprised of my not having a boyfriend.

Not that I'm choosy since I'm not really that pretty, you know. It's just that I haven't met the man that I think I can spend the rest of my life with yet. I go out with friends and meet some guys. It's either he don't seem interesting to me or the other way around. No chemistry whatsoever.

Some friends told me that they think men find me intimidating. They might think so because I really don't pay too much attention to guys. I think they won't like me anyway. Sigh.

My past experiences with ex's and friends' experiences with relationships may have affected my view about love and marriage. I don't ask for a perfect man or a perfect love because I know there's no such thing. Maybe I'm just not ready to get hurt. I know I shouldn't think that way but I don't trust myself for being in a relationship because I'm afraid I'll just give up on it.

Better yet, I'd rather enjoy being single for now. When I get ready, I'll let our Father know and ask Him for my prince. In that way, whoever that man is, I know I'll be happy with him for the rest of my life because he's God's sent.

Michelle Arrived In GenSan

Our cousin Michelle arrived in GenSan yesterday afternoon. She went home for her mom's upcoming birthday. I wonder what she and Lainy have planned for the birthday celebration. If they ask me, I'd say outer banks vacation rentals would be nice for a birthday bash. Michelle won't agree for sure though! Lol!

I hope Lainy and Ate Nimfa will love my birthday gifts for them. I let Michelle bring it with her so I won't have to spend for mail carriers.

Rearranging Lainy's Living Room

When I was looking at the photos of Lainy during her birthday bash last week, I saw a lot of changes on their living room. It looked like a lot of things aren't there anymore. The living room used to look too crowded because of a lot of appliances and music instruments in it. Lainy told me that she rearranged the room so visitors will get comfortable while they're there. I wonder were she kept all those stuffs during that day. Instead of the big TV in the living room, she should just get herself a flat screen TV which she can place in a flat panel mount. That way, she will have a lot of space at home and she won't get too exhausted rearranging things and appliances in the room during celebrations.

Photos of Lainy's Birthday Bash

Finally here are the photos of Lainy's Birthday Bash!

She vehemently declared October 29 as her official holiday and that she turned 25 FOREVER recently since it was her first time to get cakes (she actually got 3 cakes as birthday presents) and blew candles on her birthday. Can't argue with that! Lol! Guess who gave the biggest cake??? I'll leave you guessing! hahahahah!

Lunch was done at work for her colleagues since it was impossible for them to go to Lainy's house because of their toxic schedule. Dinner was for church mates and family at home.

Her boss - Bottomlines whom she influenced to blog, called her up in the morning and pretended to be Capt. Tan of the PNP (Philippine National Police). She recognized his voice right away so the pretense got spoiled! Lol! He was one of the first people who called to greet her a Happy Birthday.

She sent me a text message on her birthday bragging about her Prince's Scotty's gifts. She got a new digital camera from her Sayang which she used to take pictures. Gifts will be shown on the next post.

Meanwhile, here are some of the photos:

Lainy Is Too Busy At Work

Being am Elections Assistant, Lainy is obliged to do extended working hours at the office. She goes to work at 8am and goes home at 8pm. Sometimes she does over time at work until 9pm. Not only that, she's also expected to work on Saturdays. She's all but tired when she gets home.

They're too busy at work because May 2010 election is coming up. COMELEC is a government sect which takes care of everything during election. Since people are to vote, registration of voters is ongoing. Lainy is expected to be too busy at work even after the May elections.

Lainy and her colleagues deserve a treat for their hard work. I hope the next president can provide them orlando vacations because all of them deserve it.

Let's hope this hectic work schedule is not going to make our Lainy all the more sickly.
