Oh! the excruciating head pains I suffer

It has been several years that I have been having recurring severe head pains. Whenever it happens I have to reach out for the general over-the-counter medications that are sold at the Shops here.

There is little relief with these general medications. When the head pains become so intense, I ask my brother to give my head and back a massage but that is not the solution too.

And NO! I am not speaking about PMS.

Recently, a friend pointed me to try out best migraine treatments. It has reached a point where I dread the onset of my head pains so much I would try out anything.

Have we thought about foot care?

Someone remarked to me that most people fail to pay attention the the care of their feet. That remark caught me by surprise.

"Am I guilty of uncaring for my feet?" I asked myself. Perhaps there is some truth in that remark because she explained that the feet bears the weight of the human body during most of its waking hours.

She went on to explain that most people try to cut corners and buy shoes that either fail to fit their feet comfortably or shoes that do not provide a comfortable wear for their feet. I think she has a valid point.

Speaking of shoes, I am going to need a new pair soon. I was thinking about Christian Louboutin.

Their designs are impeccable and there's a good selection to chose from.

I Beg Your Pardon

I am still here. Somehow, I am too happy to be infront of the PC once more after a taxing and grueling days at work since Friday. My sked is even tougher today, Sunday. My usual blogging routine which is spent solely for Sundays was spoiled. Yes, I still have to report for work on a Sunday. My daily routine won't be as normal as it is before until the election day is over.

We are currently conducting a training for the General Instructions and PCOS operation for the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI's) who shall be the COMELEC's frontliners come May 10, 2010.

The rotational outages down here made things even more difficult for me. My usual blogging activities were disrupted. I have missed going through my favorite blogs and interacting with them. I will try to keep up though when things get normal and better.

The recent activities at work made it very impossible for me to do all things at the same time. It's a good thing that quite a number of drafts were prepared in my other Blog, Lainy's Musings. All I need to do is hit the publish button.

For now, I ask for your understanding and patience.

Thank you.

Being Under the Weather

sick fly Pictures, Images and Photos

It was a week ago when I was barking like Ewoks. The dry cough was just too much to bear. But I still had to report for work because our schedule was rather hectic. I felt a lot better after seven days though I still don't have my voice back. It still sounds hoarse from too much coughing. My mother was also suffering from the same ordeal. She had to file a leave of absence and had to take antibiotics as advised by her physician.

I am not sure if it's the weather or it's my immune system with a low resistance to ailments. I was up and about as early as 4am for our 5:30 am devotional prayers since Friday, Feb 26 until Mar 5. This is in preparation for our Holy Supper at Church. I also am working under pressure. On Wednesday, I had this terrible cold and fever. I didn't report for work yesterday. I stayed home and took a good rest.

But what the heck!

The frequent outages made me feel I am going to get worse! I couldn't tolerate the heat! I couldn't sleep! I felt I truly am under severe distress! Is this hell on earth?

I have no choice but to report back to work today. Another long and stressful day ahead of me. I just hope it will go smoothly. I have to take heed of the following to help me feel a lot better:

Working Under Pressure With Grace

My recent hectic schedule made it very impossible for me to do everything as I wish offline and online.

My offline routines like playing badminton and just taking a good nap at noon time were the things I would sorely miss doing. I even planned of doing some jogs in the morning but can't seem to accomplish this task.

A lot of my online tasks will be temporarily relegated to the sidelines. Sure I would miss hopping. and commenting on my fave blogs. Not to mention that I couldn't do phentermine reviews as of yet. This is the one thing that I should get done the soonest possible time.

My hands are full in the coming weeks or so. I hope I could get to accomplish everything with grace :-)

Health Is Wealth

Of course it is!

It is pretty sad that it took me some health blows before finally realizing it. Taking good care of my health is something that I haven't prioritized because of my crazy work schedules. And I must admit, accomplishing my online chores took its toll on me. I am aware these are lame excuses but I have learned my lesson hard.

I have learned to adopt preventive measures when it comes to my health issues. Thus, when I've heard of the colon cleansing food, I didn't think twice in asking for its benefits. I have every desire to purchase the product once I know it is available here in our place.

One good news is that, my battle with hypertension is beginning to get better results. I am all fired up in winning the battle and I am so determined to do just that!

Thank You, Facebook!

We knew each other since we were 12 years old. We became good friends and real buddies for more than a decade. Everything seemed to have been forgotten because of one petty and trivial misunderstanding. It drifted us apart. Two years had past and I really thought I had to forget about the beautiful friendship that we once had.

I was on the verge of hopelessness.

Little did I know that while some bloggers parted ways through Facebook of late, my case is the exact opposite. My friend and I were able to patch things up through Facebook. Apologies were asked and accepted. We were able to revive the friendship that we once shared for many years.

Thanks to the social networking site such as Facebook. It did not only connect me to long lost friends, it has also kept me grounded. Hatred and pride must never reside in one's heart.

Mother Knows Best

My mother and I agree on a lot of things. But most times, we find some stuffs we don't agree on. Whenever I disagree with her, it doesn't mean I don't trust and respect her wisdom. Mother still knows best.

When it comes to skin care, I have no reasons to argue with her, LOL! She believes that accutane is the best treatment for acnes. I didn't one bit doubted her.

Not too many children are blessed with a cool and a groovy mom. Since my brothers are performers, she's one of the best stage mothers around! She doesn't want to miss any of the Kuerdas shows. She is an all-supportive mom!

I am not an outgoing type of person. I mostly prefer to stay home than hang around everywhere. But being the stage mother that she is, I have learned to enjoy going out whenever my brothers perform.

Well, each mothers have their unique characteristics. They are loved and sometimes hated for what they are. But truly, mothers are admired for their nurturing and caring nature.

And She's My Mother!

My mother is a little vain. She is the kind of person who takes good care of her physical attributes very well. She can not go out of the house not fully made up. And how she hates it when she gets adult acne! She feels she's long done with it since she got too many acne scars when she was younger. Most of the people actually mistake us as siblings. And they would find it amazing to know that she is actually my mother.

In a few months, she will be celebrating her 50th birthday. How time flies so quick! She originally planned of having a big party for her friends but later changed her mind. She doesn't want to spend her money on parties. She wants to invest it to something long lasting instead.

Would You Want a Glass of Water or Coke?

I have learned the other night that our family friend, Ate, Nimfa, was confined at a hospital because of some kidney problems. We were worried. Then we all agreed in chorus that her drinking too much coke could be the culprit.

With Ate Nimfa

And how right we were!

Ate Nimfa is a person who thinks she would die without softdrinks (Coca Cola to be precise!). She drinks less water and would prefer bottles of coke.

Ate Nimfa's case is not rare. There are a lot of people who suffered from even worse complications.

This made me scan my mailbox for an email I had received some years ago (July 27, 2005).

Read on:

Coke or Water?

WATER

  1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)
  2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
  3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
  4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
  5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
  6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
  7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
  8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

COKE

  1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
  2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
  3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coke into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
  4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coke.
  5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coke over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
  6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coke to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
  7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coke into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminium foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for sumptuous brown gravy.
  8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coke will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
  1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
  2. To carry coke syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
  3. The distributors of carbonated sodas have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is,
would YOU like a glass of water or coke?

NOTE: Coke here refers to ALL soda, not specifically Coca-Cola.
